Robert Dujarric is Director, Institute of Contemporary Japanese
Studies at Temple University Japan Campus in Tokyo. Until 2007, he was
a Visiting Research Fellow at the Japan Institute for International Affairs
in Tokyo. He was a 2004-2005 Council on Foreign Relations Hitachi International
Affairs Fellow in Japan prior to taking his current position. He is conducting
research on the Japanese economy and Asian security, and chairs the Korea
Japan Study Group. Prior to his fellowship, he spent ten years in Washington
DC at Hudson Institute, where he authored several publications on Northeast
Asian security issues, chaired the Korea Japan Luncheon Group, and co-authored
reports on Central Asia and Europe. He also participated in a National
Institute project on North Korea. His latest book, written with General
William Odom, is entitled America's Inadvertent Empire (Yale University
Press in 2004). Before moving to Washington, he worked with Goldman Sachs
in Europe and Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. He is a graduate
of Harvard College and holds an MBA from Yale University.
